To celebrate spring we've deployed some more worker nodes and disk space. Yet another 200 series server with 4 cores and 4GB of RAM, as well as two new 400 series servers. These last two servers come out of the old VMWare cluster, and hence have only 8 x 1.6GHz cores, however they have 32GB of RAM. We've designated these as the 400M series, so submitting jobs to the 400 series will not incorporate these resources by default. This is to ensure consistency of MPI job speeds. If however you're determined to make use of a "fruit salad" of worker nodes just add both :series400:series400M to your PBS directive.
In addition to the new servers is another scratch area, /scratch02. Once again this is not backed up and is "volatile" so don't store critical data here for extended periods. The total scratch space from all Gluster volumes now exceeds 1TB.
Unfortunately our RAM update for the 200 series has been delayed for a week or two. We expect this to take place before the end of September.
