Intel has agreed to loan a number of Xeon Phi cards to the CHPC who will be making these available to researchers for testing. We would strongly encourage our users to make use of this opportunity. Based on the outcome we hope to be able to motivate for similar hardware. We will announce on our blog as soon as the hardware is available at the CHPC. Below is the first of a series of tutorials on Parallel and Vector Software Performance with the Xeon Phi coprocessors.
Introducing the first in a new series of 5 minute instructive videos from Intel!
With a focus on educating and advancing the software development community, Intel® and HPCwire have partnered in bringing you a complimentary 12 week workshop on parallel and vector software development. From now though the month of August, Intel® will release a new 5 minute video every week filled with tips, tricks, and best practices for achieving optimal performance on Intel® Xeon® processors and Xeon Phi™ coprocessors.
The first video in the series, Coding for the Future: Intel's Vision, features James Reinders, Director and Parallel Programming Evangelist, talking about Intel’s vision of consistent, standards-based software development tools. He also discusses his new book that gives an introduction to programming for parallelism on Intel® Xeon® processors and Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessors.
