Description of File System:

This volume is mounted as /scratch on the hex and hpc clusters and was the traditional scratch area for temporary computation.

It is a 24TB Backblaze device with two 1GB NICS and is hence quite slow. It is mounted via NFS. The Backblaze NFS server cannot export quotas to this file system.

This file system is being phased out and future requests for space will be granted on the BGFS scratch space.
