The\u00a0eResearch Africa conference<\/a>\u00a0hosted by UCT ICTS last week was a resounding success. \u00a0We had 90 delegates and speakers from 9 countries covering a wide range of eResearch topics. Apart from researchers there were numerous IT system administrators or adminresearch hybrids. \u00a0A Southern African \u00a0research sysadmin email support group is being investigated by Peter van Heusden from UWC. \u00a0Our Sicilian friends were also present to talk about\u00a0Grid 2.0<\/a>\u00a0and some of the new\u00a0web based Science Gateways,\u00a0http:\/\/sgw.africa-grid.org<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0http:\/\/sgw.garr.it<\/a>. \u00a0Andrew Lewis gave a presentation on\u00a0Budget Cluster Computing in AWS<\/a>. \u00a0Overall a most enjoyable and well organised event and we're looking forward to eResearch Africa 2014.<\/div>\r\n
