This just in from TENET:
Update: The SEACOM Network Operations Centre (NOC) have confirmed that the international outage is being caused by a terrestrial fibre break in Egypt. Due to security conditions the technician dispatched to repair the fibre breaks in Egypt will only arrive at the site of the break at approximately 4am GMT (6am South African time). It should then take between an hour to two hours to perform the fibre repair. We are therefore looking at an estimated time of repair of somewhere between 7am and 8am providing there are no unforeseen complications.
Hi All, We are currently experiencing a failure on the SEACOM Cable. Having spoken to SEACOM's NOC, they say there is currently a problem of unknown cause between Mumbai and Marseille. At current there is unfortunately no further information, and as a result there are no estimated restoration times as of yet. We will be tracking this through the night and as soon as we have more information will send out further updates. Thanks Andrew Alston TENET - Chief Technology Officer
