Please let us know if you no longer require access to the cluster, or if you have recently acknowledged the cluster in any thesis or publication.
MATLAB has been installed on the UCT HPC cluster. It is possible to run Matlab jobs via a batch script or an interactive job. Additionally you can submit MATLAB jobs to the cluster from your desktop. More information can be found here.
We have received a few queries lately where researchers had run out of space. To check your disk quota use the command myquota. You are limited in both space and number of files that can be created so check both values.

Size quotas in /home are fixed at 20GB while quotas in /scratch can be increased on request with a motivation. File number quotas can be increased in either /home or /scratch on request. File number quotas are a safety check to ensure the disk volumes do not use up their file allocation tables due to rogue jobs creating millions of small files.
